The platform booklooker.de was founded in October 1999 by Jens Bertheau and Daniel Conrad as a book flea market for students. By now, booklooker.de is one of the largest book marketplaces in German-speaking countries with over 1.7 million registered customers (as of October 2015). In recent years, the offer has gradually expanded to audiobooks, movies, music and games. In addition to its own platform, booklooker also operates the marketplaces at weltbild.de, buecher.de and jokers.de. Since September 2015, www.antiquario.de offers a research tool for stationary bookstores.
