The original sea to summit expedition began with an Australian mountaineer asking a mate of his to design and build some gear for an audacious, solo and human powered attempt of Mt. Everest – from sea to summit. The 1990 expedition was a great success, so was the gear, and the Sea to Summit brand was born. The headquarters is still based in Perth, Western Australia where the brand was founded and is still run by Aussie design perfectionists driven by the original brand ethos, #toequipandinspire.
